
BusyInternet launched its BusyIncubator program early 2005,
with support from the Worldbank, with special funding from
the Government of Japan.
The first of its kind in West Africa, this small business incubation program is designed to increase the chances of survival of young companies by providing them with a good opportunity to grow in a supportive and nurturing environment.
What is Business Incubation?
It is a method used to assist small to grow and become sustainable. Incubating a business means providing new start-up businesses that qualify with a set of facilities -- physical space, shared services, business and legal advice, and sometimes financial inputs to cushion them during their early days of formation and assist them until "graduation", when they have the capacity to "survive" in the outside competitive environment
To date, 25 companies have been successfully hosted at BusyInternet –Including Data
Management International Inc. (www.dmi-inc.com); EshopAfrica www.eshopafrica.com); Interface
Technologies (www.interfaceghana.com); Soft
Internet Solutions (www.sis.gh); and
Graphicolor, Ghana (www.graphicolorghana.com).
Currently 10 companies are in the facility–providing
connectivity solutions, software development, management
consulting, entrepreneurship development, business process
outsourcing, computer based test preparation, and administration
and web-based applications development.
